The Orano Melox site benefits from an average investment of 15 million euros per year to maintain operational conditions and strengthen safety by following a continuous progress approach and a sustainable development policy. The operational excellence approach, like the efforts made since its inception in environmental matters, is inspected by independent certification bodies and have been recognised by various awards.

A reinforced command station in 2019

As part of the Supplementary Safety Assessments (SSA) following the accident at Fukushima (Japan), the creation of a crisis management building resistant to extreme hazards was authorised by the ASN. This crisis PC will be able to operate in a fully-anonymous manner, the room will be equipped with specific ventilation and autonomous power supply means.
