Neomat: A Franco-Chinese Project for Electric Vehicle Batteries Showcased at The Battery Show Europe 2025
At The Battery Show Europe 2025 in Stuttgart, Orano Batteries and XTC New Energy unveiled their joint industrial venture — Neomat — dedicated to the production and recycling of materials for electric vehicle batteries. A strategic initiative spotlighted at a key European event for sustainable mobility.
A European showcase for the batteries of tomorrow
From June 3 to 5, 2025, Orano Batteries and its Chinese partner XTC New Energy took part in The Battery Show Europe, the largest European trade fair for electric vehicle batteries — a prime opportunity to present Neomat, their joint venture in battery components (CAM and PCAM), officially launched in December 2024.
Strategic regional roots in France
At the France Pavilion, alongside Business France and the regions of Hauts-de-France, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the two partners highlighted Neomat’s strong territorial assets:
- The future Neomat industrial platform in Dunkirk (Hauts-de-France),
- Pilot facilities for pre-treatment and hydrometallurgy at CIME in Bessines-sur-Gartempe,
- The PCAM production project in Grenoble.
Institutional recognition
The project also attracted interest from French institutional representatives, including a visit from the French Consul General in Stuttgart, under the “Choose France” banner.
