Job description
Orano USA is seeking a Process Engineer II to support Project IKE, a major initiative focused on nuclear facility design and modernization. Under general supervision and reporting to the Process Engineering Lead, this role involves applying chemical and mechanical engineering principles to support process system design, analysis, and optimization. Assignments may include full ownership of tasks or portions of larger projects, with guidance from senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze process systems including fluid handling, chemical treatment, and thermal systems.
- Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, and process specifications.
- Support field activities such as commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance testing.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety and process engineering standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate process systems into facility designs.
- Contribute to technical documentation and participate in design reviews.

Ideal qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, plus 2–3 years of experience.
- Advanced degrees or PE license may substitute for experience or education.
- Must be eligible for security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with nuclear or DOE process systems.
- Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, and DOE process safety standards.
- Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., Aspen, ChemCAD).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, walk, kneel, and crouch as needed.
- Regular use of a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
