Job description
Orano USA is seeking an HVAC Engineer II to support Project IKE. This role involves the design and analysis of HVAC systems for nuclear facilities, ensuring environmental control and system reliability. Under general supervision and reporting to the HVAC Engineering Lead, the engineer will contribute to system performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design HVAC systems including air handling, filtration, and exhaust systems.
- Perform load calculations and select equipment.
- Support installation, testing, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, DOE, and nuclear HVAC standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure integrated design.
- Participate in design reviews and technical documentation.

Ideal qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, plus 2–3 years of experience.
- Advanced degrees or PE license may substitute for experience or education.
- Must be eligible for security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HVAC systems in nuclear or high-containment environments.
- Proficiency in HVAC modeling tools (e.g., TRACE 700, HAP).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, walk, kneel, and crouch as needed.
- Regular use of a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
