The mission of the Orano DS is to deliver to our customers safe, worry-free, and cost-effective total system solutions and services for the decommissioning and dismantlement of commercial nuclear facilities in the United States. Orano DS is part of the Orano global family with its D&D Business Line operationally aligned under the Business Unit Decommissioning Services and is uniquely positioned for success within this industry segment.  
   

Job Description: 

Orano Decommissioning Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for our Hudson, MA site. The qualified candidate will be responsible for assisting the engineering staff in the creation, evaluation, review, and release of engineering designs for various tooling, equipment and work processes. They may also assist in the engineering staff in the creation, revision, review, and release of accurate, detailed engineering drawings of various tooling, equipment and work processes, in accordance with drafting standards. This position requires qualifying for and maintaining unescorted access to the Crystal River 3 Nuclear Power Plant.

 

 Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in meetings, design reviews and brainstorming sessions.

  • Provide design input and assessment related to assigned design activities.

  • Prepare PowerPoint presentation and training materials.

  • Create, modify, and maintain engineering part and assembly models and sketches.

  • Create, modify, and maintain accurate engineering part and assembly models.

Ideal qualifications

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. 

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or various related Engineering Disciplines.

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8.

  • Must have work authorization to work in the United States.

  • Able to create and modify detailed models and drawings sketches, layouts or notes.

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.


The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

  • Knowledge of machine shop or other fabrication operations

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including part and assembly modeling and drawing creation.

  • Knowledge of ASME, AWS ANSI and/or other industry consensus standards.

  • Knowledge of ANSI and/or ISO drafting standards, ASME Y14.5, GD&T and weld symbols.

  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks  or Certified SolidWorks Associate or Professional. (CSWA/CSWP)
