New Orano USA Executive Roles Focus on Business Development

Three organization changes apply executive direction and strategy to opportunities in advanced reactor fuels and nuclear material management.
BETHESDA, Md., October 4, 2023 – Orano USA announces three personnel changes on its executive team to enhance the company’s strategic focus on the developing market for advanced reactor fuels and opportunities in the management, transportation, and storage of fresh uranium fuel and used nuclear fuel.

Armand Laferrere joins Orano USA as Senior Executive Vice President, Secretary General and Partnerships. In this role, Laferrere leads the development of business partnerships with U.S. companies and entities, serves as a liaison between global Orano Group's general management and U.S. business units, and oversees OUSA’s Legal, Public Affairs, and Environmental, Health, and Safety departments. Prior to this role, Laferrere served as Senior Vice President Government Affairs for Orano Group and in executive positions within the former AREVA.

Jean-Luc Palayer advances to the new role of Orano USA Vice President of Business Operations focused on developing innovative opportunities for products and services, including the advanced fuels markets. Palayer also serves in a dual role as the Chief Sourcing Officer for Orano’s TN Americas business unit providing nuclear material management, transportation, and storage. Palayer’s experience includes serving as TN Americas’ Chief Operating Officer and Vice President Operations and Supply Chain.

Brad Beard joins Orano USA’s TN Americas team as the new Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Beard’s responsibilities include all aspects of product realization: the Project Management organization and the company’s U.S. manufacturing facilities. Before joining Orano, Beard led manufacturing and supply chain operations for international companies, including Smart Wires, GE Nuclear Energy, and GE Healthcare.
