Orano TN, a subsidiary of Orano, is seeking an Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Engineer to support the ISFSI’s day-to-day activities in Crystal River, FL.
The ISFSI Engineer will support both the ISFSI Licensing Manager and the ISFSI Operations and Maintenance Manager and be responsible for supporting licensing reviews, preparation of licensing submittals, and implementing site compliance activities, as well as supporting technical evaluations, maintenance task scheduling and preparation, and major project implementation.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Ensure implementation of all 10 CFR 72 and 50 license-based programs and processes.
- Ensure the Site complies with all Local, State and Federal regulations and interact with external stakeholders and regulators as required.
- Assess site activities and determine and/or develop improvements in processes, procedures and training.
- Prepare or oversee changes to licensing documents and implementing procedures as necessary.
- Perform Technical Audits or assist with Regulatory Reviews and Independent Safety Reviews and participate in Industry and Peer working groups.
- Apply common engineering processes for modifications to the ISFSI.
- Develop and prepare written instructions for operation and maintenance of ISFSI systems.
- Fulfill role when needed as Licensing Manager or Operations and Maintenance Manager.
- Assist with implementation of the Corrective Action Program (CAP) to ensure that it is effective by fostering the identification of issues at a low threshold.
- Maintain required qualifications to perform and review procedures, technical documents and Regulatory Reviews and Independent Safety Reviews.
- Promote a Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE) and safety culture that is free of Harassment, Intimidation, Retaliation and Discrimination (HIRD).
- Perform all assigned tasks in conformance with established procedures and company policies and properly document all data and information collected during the performance of assigned tasks.
- Ability to recognize the need and maintain confidential or sensitive data under proper safeguard controls.
- Maintain effective communications with other employees to ensure that those with a need to know are kept cognizant of events in an effort to reduce delays, resolve conflicts, and expedite resolution of problems.
- Perform such other duties that may be assigned.

Ideal qualifications
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.
- B.S. or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Equivalent.
- 10 years industrial/power plant experience, during which 7 years is managerial experience and 3 years is nuclear experience.
- Must meet 10 CFR 73 access requirements.
Preferred additional qualifications:
- Working knowledge of 10 CFR Parts 72 and/or 50 license requirements, Site Security Plan, Emergency Plan and QA Program application/ownership and related administrative controls.
- Working knowledge of ISFSI related equipment, including familiarity with nuclear Protected Area (PA) security systems and Dry Cask temperature monitoring and related equipment operation.
- Prior experience in procedure writing and work package planning.
- Experience interfacing with regulators, including Federal and State.
- Knowledge of Health Physics/Radiological programs, requirements and implementation and experience with industrial safety program ownership.
