The Mechanical Engineer will support capital projects from concept through commissioning, working under the guidance of experienced senior engineers and project managers. This role provides exposure to all phases of project execution, including design, coordination, and startup. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contractors, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to safe, on-time, and on-budget project delivery.

Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, this position is responsible for the following duties:
· Perform conceptual and detailed mechanical engineering design activities for the existing and new operations in Uranium Mining/Milling facilities
· Prepare equipment specifications, data sheets and tender documents for procurement of equipment including expediting orders to facilitate installation and construction
· Ensure mechanical/piping systems meet technical specifications, adherence to industry and internal standards, and that required regulatory and QA/QC requirements are met
· Support large multidisciplinary projects from conceptual to detailed engineering, continuing to construction and commissioning support as required
· Coordinate information requests during fabrication and construction and participate in shop and site visits as necessary to ensure acceptance of approved design and compliance with codes and schedule
· Provide mechanical technical support to other Orano Canada departments as required
· Other duties as requested by the Lead Mechanical Engineer
Skills and qualifications we’re seeking:
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
· Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGS
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and construction
· A minimum of 2 years of experience engineering industrial projects
· Knowledge and application experience of the ASME B31.3, BPVC Section VIII and API 650 Codes
· An understanding of process, chemical, and slurry conveyance, piping, and tank design
· Knowledge of mechanical process equipment selection including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, etc.
· Experience with pipe stress analysis including specifying pipe supports pipe support would be considered an asset
· Experience working within or with other medium to large scale mining and processing organizations is considered an asset.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to interact in a team environment, as well as working independently
· Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with other departments within the company
Work location & Travel:
· Saskatoon corporate office
· Travel to Orano mine or project sites is required with varying frequency and duration (approximately 10%)
