*This position is for future Scaffolder Apprenticeship*

 

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for the following duties:

 

Responsibilities include: 

·         Primarily working with the scaffolders, with the expectation of providing assistance to other trades as directed.

·         Under the direction of Mill Maintenance Supervision and guidance of Tradespeople perform a variety of maintenance tasks as assigned.

·         Must follow directions and complete assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner

·         Follow all site procedures, work instructions and environmental policies.

·         Demonstrate a strong working relationship with all site departments.

·         Maintain acceptable attendance and compliance in established schedules

·         Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture

·         Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures

Ideal qualifications

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

·         Must have a grade 12 diploma or equivalent

·         Candidate will be required to complete a Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES) with the expectation of achieving, by the end of the term 3/3/3 in the areas of Reading, Comprehension, Document Use and Numeracy

·         Previous mining or maintenance experience, along with a background in industrial or process equipment is an asset

·         Must be a Resident of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN). Preference will be given to residents of the Athabasca Basin

Once the candidate has been chosen and to further establish if the candidate will be successful as an apprentice, they must:

·         Agree to receiving further aptitude testing, along with “Trade Readiness” testing, and undertaking essential skills development as required

·         Must be dependable and have the ability to work independently

·         Must have good communication skills

This position is subject to pre-employment checks including education and criminal record verification. 

Drug and alcohol substance testing is a requirement for all safety sensitive positions at Orano Canada.
