Orano - Annual Activity Report 2025 88 3 RISK CONTROL AND VIGILANCE PLAN Vigilance plan ● dosimetric monitoring and personnel monitoring: Orano’s employees as well as external contractors are subject to dosimetric monitoring appropriate to the type of exposure. Radiation protection measures and personnel monitoring levels are uniformly applied to all exposed workers, in accordance with the principle of fairness. The latter aims to ensure an equitable distribution of individual doses to minimize dosimetric differences between workers. In order to limit as much as possible the dose received by workers in the designated radiation areas, an in-depth study of the working conditions and an assessment of the anticipated doses is carried out before the operation. This makes it possible to adapt the exposure duration, to use protective screens and to consider the physiological constraints from wearing the personal protective equipment (PPE) and the heat; and ● control the dosimetry: particular attention is given to situations likely to generate effective doses exceeding the internal alert criterion of 14 millisieverts (mSv). The HSE policy 2024-2026 requires a systematic analysis of these situations, which then enables appropriate measures to be implemented in line with the facility’s activities, in application of the radiation protection optimization principle (ALARA approach). In 2025, the dosimetry results for the group’s employees and contractors working on the Orano sites are similar to the 2024 results. Health surveillance of former employees All employees in France are monitored with epidemiological studies to assess the health effects of exposure to radiation, whether of occupational, medical or environmental origin. As such, the ASNR has set up cohorts of nuclear industry workers covering all stages of the French nuclear power cycle. The objective of these studies is to analyze the potential risks associated with exposure to repeated low doses of radiation, by external irradiation or internal contamination. The objective of the Common Interest Project (CIP) in Epidemiology aims to promote collaboration between Orano and ASNR on epidemiological studies relating to the effects of longterm occupational exposure to low doses radiation. Created in 2003, this CIP has consisted of three sub-programs since 2017: ● the study of uranium miners; ● the study of Orano workers monitored for external exposure (SELTINE cohort); and ● the study of Orano workers monitored for internal contamination (TRACY cohort). Prevention of risks associated with the health of employees of the group or external companies Description of the risk During their activities, the employees of the group and of external companies working on Orano sites or for Orano entities are likely to be exposed to radiological, chemical and conventional risks that could have consequences on their health. Risk prevention Consequently, Orano has implemented various measures to preserve their physical and mental health. Medical monitoring and prevention of occupational risks The group implements a multi-year health prevention plan for all the group’s employees. It ensures that its standards are applied in France and internationally for the implementation of medical surveillance of occupational risks. Occupational health is coordinated within a group Occupational Health and Prevention Service (SPST), with national responsibilities and international activities to enhance its effectiveness. The missions of the SPST are varied and are based on four areas for a global prevention strategy: ● medical follow-up of employees; ● occupational health advice and prevention; ● actions in the workplace; and ● strengthening measures to prevent professional isolation. This medical monitoring helps detect and prevent occupational diseases. It delivers prevention information to individual employees. It also enables traceability of occupational exposures throughout the professional career. In 2025, the group continued its efforts to bring employees into the SPST in France. This involves integrating, as far as possible, the Orano entities into the group’s SPST in order to ensure homogeneous care for all employees. The HSE Department and the SPSTs regularly participate in national and international crisis exercises. Regarding employees of external companies working on Orano sites, the group ensures that the risks and rules are well-known. The group monitors the accidents of contractors working on its facilities and takes necessary feedback into account to adapt practices. Prevention of psychosocial risks Psychosocial risks (PSR) refer to the risks to the mental, physical and social health of employees, generated by employment conditions or factors related to the organization of work and professional relationships. In 2025, the new agreement on the development of Quality of Life and Working Conditions (QLWC) in France was unanimously signed by the social partners, confirming the commitments made since 2012 and the global approach to PSR prevention. This agreement provides in particular for: ● promoting employee expression and the joint development, within groups, of a charter for quality relationships; ● regular training for managers in listening skills and conflict management; ● encouraging opportunities for team bonding; ● the strengthening of support measures for employees facing disease, in addition to existing schemes for caregivers and the donation of days, in accordance with the commitments of the Working With Cancer (WWC) Charter.
