Orano - Annual Activity Report 2025 87 RISK CONTROL AND VIGILANCE PLAN 3 Vigilance plan Prevention of a serious or fatal workplace accident of an employee of the group or of an external company Description of the risk The activities of Orano present a significant risk to the safety of the group’s employees as well as to external contractors working on its sites, leading to serious accidents, even fatalities (falls from a height, handling accidents, vehicle-pedestrian collisions, etc.). Risk prevention To avoid and reduce these risks, the group has implemented a proactive approach aimed at developing a culture of prevention in terms of occupational safety for its employees and external contractors working on its sites. Compliance with workplace safety rules and procedures In order to ensure the safety of its employees and those of external companies, the group ensures compliance with applicable rules and procedures, including those regarding access to Orano facilities and the physical protection of sites. External contractors are also on-boarded and monitored for safety when they work on an Orano site or industrial platform, to ensure that their prevention standards are equivalent to those of Orano employees. In addition, the group has defined five anchors and nine safety standards that outline the reflexes to adopt in order to reinforce rigorous behavior during activities. These anchors and standards are explicit and must be integrated into the daily routine of all personnel at all of the group’s sites in order to avoid exposure to serious or fatal risks. They also apply to all Orano employees on platforms outside the group. They are required regardless of the place of work, activity or country. It remains a collective and individual requirement to ensure the prevention of accidents in all group entities. Occupational Safety training Orano trains its employees in safety rules through mandatory trainings specific to each site. In addition to these specific trainings, there are also mandatory modules to train employees in the implementation of a corporate culture in terms of protection and safety. Orano also ensures that external contractors are aware of the risks and their prevention, particularly in terms of safety and security. Each Orano site or facility provides “Safety induction training” (FAS) for employees of external companies who are due to enter the site. During this training, which varies in format and duration, the following are presented: the site, activities, facilities, processes and materials involved, major risks and associated prevention measures, principles of nuclear safety and security, as well as certain safety culture fundamentals. The training includes a multiple-choice test (MCQ) to assess the knowledge acquired. Validation of the training is a condition for obtaining access authorization by issuing a badge. Furthermore, any Orano employee or external party working in a nuclear zone must have followed and validated a training in risk prevention (RP), regardless of their profession. In order to reinforce ongoing awareness, key events dedicated to safety are included in the calendar. In June, “Safety Month” includes a safety day organized every year on sites in France and abroad and open to all employees. In September, a “safe return to work” message is shared. Managers are encouraged to take a few minutes with their teams to re-establish good habits and remind them of the purpose of the rules, explaining not only “how” to act, but above all “why.” In 2025, this “back to work” communication was based on a video to present the five anchors and nine safety standards, to be shared with all teams. Network of prevention specialists The HSE Department coordinates a network of prevention specialists (safety and radiation protection) with the aim of sharing and improving existing practices, based in particular on the analysis of accidents or events that have occurred. This network is in charge of coordinating these actions at local level (by site or entity). A committee for analyzing and sharing safety feedback (CAP-REX Safety) meets periodically to conduct a second-level analysis of confirmed events and weak signals with high potential severity that are of cross-functional interest to the group. This secondlevel analysis corresponds to the detailed study of an incident or security risk in order to deepen the analysis of real causes, including from organizational and human aspects. For more details on occupational health and safety results, see Section 4.3.1.2. In 2025, the group’s safety results improved further compared to 2024. Prevention of the risk of radiological contamination or significant irradiation of an employee of the group or an external company Description of the risk Uncontrolled exposure to radiation or radioactive substances can have health consequences for the employees of the group or of an external company. Risk prevention General principles on radiation protection The group implements several measures and protocols to protect all its employees and those of external companies working on its sites against the risk of exposure to radiation or radioactive substances. These measures include, in particular: ● measures to prevent and protect against radiation: reducing radiation exposure is built into the design of Orano’s facilities. Specific measures are taken in designated radiation areas to maintain the most radiologically clean work environment and to protect workers from radiation emitted in the facilities;
