Annual Activity Report 2025

Orano - Annual Activity Report 2025 27 SITUATION AND ACTIVITIES OF THE COMPANY AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES DURING THE PAST FINANCIAL YEAR 2 Highlights of the financial year ● In terms of decommissioning cycle facilities, the program to decommission the former Eurodif gaseous diffusion enrichment plant, which was shut down in 2012, is continuing with the start of demolition of the two cooling towers at the Tricastin site. In 2025, the deconstruction of the first 123-metre-high tower was completed using a technique known as “nibbling” which deconstructs the structure piece by piece from top to bottom using a “concrete clamp” erected inside the tower. ● Orano’s Dismantling and Services business continues to implement the group’s performance plan through a fiveyear plan specific to its service activities. This plan is part of the Cap28 project rolled out to its employees. As such, it focuses its actions on strengthening its key activities and locations, strengthening skills and developing new services. Furthermore, the DS entity is accelerating the establishment of a culture of Operational Excellence and the deployment of digital solutions through the development of industrial partnerships. These include advances in artificial intelligence to improve the performance of new nuclear power plants and services provided to operators. Engineering & Projects ● 2025 was marked by support for the Aval du Futur program and the creation of a new social framework for Orano Projects and Orano Aval du Futur engineering employees. To continue its recruitment momentum and double its workforce by 2030, 657 new hires were made within Orano engineering in 2025 to support the group’s projects, the Life extension and resilience program and the Aval du Futur program. To accommodate its teams, Orano is investing over the long term in its real estate in its historic areas and new sites to accommodate engineering staff: ● after the opening of the new facility in Bordeaux (Gironde) in 2025, which already has 50 employees, the employees will be transferred to the Cimes site, eventually accommodating more than 200 employees; ● in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Manche), the Fourches building, inaugurated in 2025, can accommodate more than 560 employees. At the same time, the historic site of la Saline is being modernized to accommodate more than 500 employees by the end of the work in 2026; ● in Pierrelatte (Drôme), an extension of the existing buildings was delivered this year, along with a modernization of the historic buildings, eventually able to accommodate more than 500 employees; ● in Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône), a new site has been opened and already has more than 20 employees; ● in Dijon (Côte d’Or), a new facility has been opened, it will be extended to a new platform in 2026 to accommodate around a hundred employees. ● In order to anticipate and prepare for the ramp-up of its Engineering activities, on November 4, 2025 on the occasion of the WNE, Orano Projects celebrated three new engineering partnerships with the companies Assystem, Ametra and Vulcain. They complement those already signed on October 8, 2024 with CAPGEMINI, ECIA-EQUANS, EGIS and EKIUMSNEF. These five-year contracts extend Orano’s engineering capabilities. ● The transformation of engineering tools continues with the development of the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) program and was marked by the strengthening of its collaboration with Dassault Systèmes, implemented on projects. ● The Orano Projects teams met the key milestones of the year, in particular for the construction of a flagship project of the group, the extension of the capacities of the Georges Besse II uranium enrichment plant at the Tricastin site, as well as those related to support for Orano’s new activities. For Orano Med, the Advanced Thorium Extraction Facility (ATEF) project, located in Bessines-sur-Gartempe (Haute-Vienne), has reached a new milestone with the completion of civil engineering work and the waterproofing of the building. In addition, CERIS, a subsidiary of Orano Projects, has completed the project management of the ATLAB in Valenciennes (laboratory for the production of drugs based on vectorized lead-212). For the Institut Gustave Roussy, CERIS is also contributing, as part of a consortium, to the construction of the new oncology research building, which is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2027. ● On September 19, 2025, Orano and the CEA inaugurated a pilot line at CEA-Liten in Grenoble (Isère) dedicated to the recycling and manufacture of rare earth-based permanent magnets. The challenges in 2026 will be to finalize a process book and find a new industrial partner. This program received two awards in 2025, the gold trophy from the magazine “Décideurs” in the “Industrial sovereignty” category for the Magnolia project, and the best innovator prize in the “Green” category from the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA). ● In 2025, Orano Projects won several contracts in the defense sector with CEA-DAM and Naval Group, capitalizing in particular on its expertise in the design and modeling of complex chemical processes. Orano Projects also won significant contracts with Framatome (Romans) for the renovation of its plant, and with ONDRAF (French national body for radioactive waste and enriched fissile materials), a Belgian body, whose framework contract was renewed for seven years. In addition, contracts were won jointly with Orano Dismantling and Services with the CEA DES at the Fontenayaux-Roses site. ● In the United Kingdom, Orano Projects’ subsidiary is developing its activities in support of strategic projects, notably with UKAEA, AWE, NDA and NNL (National Nuclear Laboratory). Finally, in the context of new nuclear energy, Orano Projects carries out studies on behalf of start-ups in the fission ecosystem and continues to collaborate on fusion in the ITER project in the areas of safety, operability, tritium and waste management. Aval du Futur program Among the highlights of 2025: ● the implementation of the internal governance of the program as well as the program’s governance bodies with EDF, the French State and elected officials and economic players in the Manche region; ● the holding of a public information meeting on June 30, 2025 and the appointment by the National Commission for Public Debate of two guarantors to advise Orano ahead of the national public debate on the project, which is expected to be held in late 2027/early 2028;
