Orano - Annual Activity Report 2025 197 SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT 4 Social and societal information 4.3.1.2 Protecting the safety and health of employees Health, occupational safety and radiation protection policies and actions for employees Orano is committed to preserving the physical and mental health of its employees. The HSE 2024-2026 policy (Nuclear and industrial safety, health, occupational safety, radiation protection, environment) outlines the priorities for actions by the group and its operational entities for the period from 2024 to 2026 in terms of health and psychosocial risks, safety, and radiation protection. The HSE policy covers all the activities carried out by the group and its operational entities in France and abroad in their responsibilities as employers for the operation of mines and nuclear or hazardous (classified) facilities, industrial operator (IO) assignments on behalf of other operators, service providers, and works contractor. This HSE policy is signed by the Chief Executive Officer and its application is monitored by the Head of Health – Safety and Environment (HSE), a member of the executive committee. It is available on the group’s website. Occupational health The priorities for action for health focus on: ● continuing to internalize employee medical monitoring; ● developing health promotion, prevention and support approaches to support employees; ● promoting job retention by supporting employees, assessing job constraints, and adapting working conditions, including in a context of climate change. Occupational health prevention in France Occupational health in France is coordinated by a group Occupational Health and Prevention Department (SPST), which, to be more effective, has national responsibilities and international activities. The objective of the SPST is to provide a health reference framework and a consistent range of services based on a multidisciplinary approach, thereby ensuring the long-term viability of a high-quality healthcare system for the benefit of the employees it serves. The group’s SPST was approved for a period of five years by the Interdepartmental Regional Director of Employment, Labor, and Solidarity of Work (DRIEETS), after consulting the occupational medical inspector. This was successfully renewed on March 14, 2023, for a further five-year period. The health system is governed by three commissions and committees: a National Commission for Monitoring and Control (CNSC) set up at the national level, a National Standing Committee on Occupational Health (CPNST) created at the national level, which can adjust the monitoring schedules of employees drawn up on a scientific basis, and an annual monitoring committee, which annually assesses the application of the agreement. The staff of the SPST reports to the Orano Health, Safety, and Radiation Protection Director and consists of doctors, nurses, psychologists, ergonomists, and assistants. Orano is continuing to internalize employees in the group’s occupational health and safety service in France. It is also at the origin of the traceability of occupational exposures throughout the professional career. It is supported by a very extensive technical platform of complementary biological and radiotoxicological examinations. In 2023, Orano launched an internal health careers school, guided by the Health Department Every year, it organizes a welcome for new members of the occupational health service and a sharing of medical practices between peers with targeted themes such as chemical and asbestos risks, radiological risks or how to receive a voice in life situations (domestic violence, cancer, etc.). International occupational health prevention Health monitoring provisions also exist for employees working abroad or on long-term assignments. They cover medical follow-up before, during, and on return from expatriation. The group operates a healthcare organization in all the countries where it operates, ensuring the prerequisites relating to occupational and medical care, as well as covering medical evacuations. The occupational medicine implemented on the sites is conducted in accordance with the regulations of the country concerned, while taking into account best practices identified within Orano. The Paris area SPST participates in the management of international health by setting up travel advice consultations for expatriate or mission-specific employees. It also carries out an international health watch and its use in travel medicine. The Health Director participates in the management of medical evacuations and supervises the medical evacuation plans developed by the entities for its international sites. For example, employees at Orano sites abroad receive the locally-mandated vaccinations and are also offered additional vaccinations in line with the specific risks due to the location of the site or seasonal epidemics (vaccines against rabies, tick-borne encephalitis, etc.). Access to psychological consultation is also being extended internationally, through local schemes and insurance coverage. In 2025, the Health Department, in its desire to standardize practices, approached entities abroad to conduct an international assessment of occupational health. An ambitious prevention plan in France This assessment is one of the main levers for progress in the group’s occupational risk prevention approach. Transcribed in the Risk Assessment Document (DUERP), it includes actions to identify and classify risks as well as the implementation of prevention actions. In 2025, psychosocial risks (PSR) continued to be integrated into the DUERP according to the methodology for assessing risks related to work organization. The entities take into account feedback from the initial assessments carried out and, in some cases, adjustments to their work units.
