Orano - Annual Activity Report 2025 100 3 RISK CONTROL AND VIGILANCE PLAN Vigilance plan Measures against child labor and local initiatives promoting education Whether in France or abroad, Orano’s recruitment process includes a verification of the candidate’s age to ensure that only individuals of legal working age are recruited. When granting access to the group’s sites, an identity verification procedure is in place. This procedure aims to ensure that only authorized individuals, who meet the age requirements among other conditions, can access the sites. To meet the expectations of its stakeholders and its operational challenges, Orano Mining contributes to the deployment of community investment projects, particularly in the field of children’s education. In Kazakhstan, Katco supported the improvement of learning conditions by equipping ten classrooms in three schools located near its facilities. This project, including furniture and interactive teaching equipment, benefited 500 students. In addition, a waste management awareness program was rolled out in schools in the Sozak region with five middle school classes, raising awareness of environmental issues among 200 children aged 9 to 11. In Mongolia and Namibia, Badrakh Energy and Orano Namibia distributed school supplies and uniforms to help improve children’s learning conditions. In Mongolia, English language classes were also provided to strengthen their skills. Prevention of the risk of conflict over water resources Description of the risk The Company’s need for water may reduce the availability of the resource for domestic and agricultural uses for local communities that depend on it, potentially leading to conflicts of water use. Risk prevention Water is the subject of particular attention due to its use in mining and chemical enrichment activities, which can have a significant impact on its quantity but also potentially on its quality. Water management is therefore a key societal concern for Orano, which has implemented several measures to reduce its water consumption and promote a collaborative approach to resource management. Reduction in consumption First of all, a working group dedicated to the topic of water was created in 2021. It brings together the entities with the highest water usage to identify and implement actions to reduce water consumption across the group. The group’s seven major consumers have thus launched a Water Master Plan, whose aim is to improve knowledge of water flows within a site and to identify areas for water management performance improvement. Orano also relies on environmental impact assessments (EIA) conducted before new projects in France and internationally to evaluate and anticipate the risks its activities pose to natural resources, like water. These EIAs help identify potential sources of pollution and risks to aquatic ecosystems and human health. They promote the implementation of preventive and corrective measures such as wastewater treatment and the adoption of cleaner technologies, proportionate to the challenges at hand. By integrating these environmental concerns from the project design phase, the group limits the negative effects on water resources. In addition, the group conducts an annual assessment of the impact of its activities on local water resources. A water risk assessment is carried out using the World Resources Institute (WRI) “Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas” tool. To date, and according to this tool, the group has no production sites in areas of high or extremely high-water stress. Across Orano Mining, an assessment of the overall water risk on all mining sites around the world was carried out, combining three risks: physical quantity risk, physical quality risk, and regulatory risk. Orano Mining also implements measures to reduce its water consumption, such as network instrumentation and industrial water recycling, as seen at the Katco site in Kazakhstan. Future projects are also working to minimize their water consumption from the design phase, both by choosing water-efficient processes and by integrating recycling and reuse loops. Consultation with stakeholders Moreover, the group has strengthened its approach to consultation with stakeholders on the topic of water. Orano’s Nature strategy fully integrates water-related issues. By 2030, this strategy aims to foster collaboration with stakeholders to anticipate conflicts on the use of water by adopting a watershed-based approach (as recommended by the ICMM). At Orano Mining, water resource management at sites is conducted in collaboration with local communities and authorities, based on the needs of local activities. Multidisciplinary teams, including environmental specialists, process engineers, R&D specialists, and social responsibility managers, are involved in managing this resource. The management plans for water resources are regularly presented and discussed with stakeholders during site monitoring committee (CSS) meetings, management committee meetings and, for some sites, via participative monitoring involving directly local communities. Prevention of the risk related to unpaid and/or unaccounted and/or unauthorized overtime Description of the risk In the course of their professional activities, employees may perform overtime hours that are unpaid, unrecorded and/or exceeding the limits permitted under national legislation. Risk prevention Orano complies with local labor laws regarding working hours. In this regard, the group ensures that any additional work is carried out in compliance with local laws and is properly compensated. To achieve this, working hours monitoring procedures are
