Born on 14 February 1969 in Strasbourg (France), Mr Philippe Knoche is a graduate of the École Polytechnique where he earned a Master's Degree in Materials Science; he is also a graduate of the École des Mines.
He began his career as rapporteur to the European Commission on the topic of anti-dumping. He then joined the Consortium de Réalisation as assistant to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
He became part of AREVA Group in 2000. After holding the position of Group Strategy Director, he was appointed Director of the Spent Fuel Recycling Business Unit in 2004. In 2006, he became Director of the OL3 Project.
In January 2010, he took over as Director of Reactors and Services Business Group and became a member of the AREVA Group Executive Committee.
On July 1, 2011, he was appointed member of the Management Board and Executive Vice-President in charge of nuclear operations.
On January 8, 2015, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of AREVA.
Since January 23, 2018, Mr. Philippe Knoche has been Chief Executive Officer of Orano.
